What dining in looks like

Counter service, wooden tables, food on the spot

Dining in at PKS is simple. Walk up to the counter, look over the board, order, and take a seat while the kitchen builds your plate.

The board up top lists the things people come back for: hot pastrami, pulled brisket, stadium hot dogs, hot and soft pretzels, subs and chicken fingers. Snacks hang on the racks, the ketchup and mustard are already on the table, and there is room for a few friends or the whole family.

The best part of eating here is that nothing has to survive a car ride. A crispy fish sandwich stays crispy, the onion rings are still hot and the brisket has not steamed itself soft in a bag. If you want it at its best, sit down and eat it here.

When to sit down

Good reasons to eat in

Some meals are better at a table than in a takeout bag. These are the times neighbors tend to pull up a chair.

  • After the beach or practice. The kids are starving and nobody wants to cook. Hot dogs, chicken fingers and a cold drink fix that fast.
  • Fried food on the order. Fish sandwiches, onion rings and fries are best a minute off the line, not twenty.
  • Lunch with a friend. A relaxed counter-service room where you can sit, talk and not feel rushed.
  • A first try of the menu. Not sure between pastrami and brisket? Order at the counter, ask questions, and taste it the way it is meant to be.
